Cock Ring Sizing Guide: Two Minutes, One Piece of String, Zero Regrets
Nobody brags about measuring. But the difference between a cock ring that makes you feel like a superhero and one that has you searching "how to remove" at 1 a.m. is about a quarter of an inch.
Too loose and it's jewelry. Too tight and it's a problem, especially if it's steel. Getting your cock ring size right takes two minutes and a piece of string, and we'd much rather you did it before you order than after.
Step 1: decide where the ring will sit
Around the shaft only: the simplest option and the best place to start.
Behind the testicles, around the shaft and scrotum together: the classic position. It holds more blood in and adds a gentle pull on the testicles.
Measure at the place where you plan to wear it. The two numbers are different.
Step 2: measure
Take a soft measuring tape or a piece of string.
Wrap it snugly, not tightly, around the spot you chose. For rings worn behind the testicles, measure while you are semi-erect, since that is when you will put it on.
Mark where the string meets and measure that length against a ruler. That is your circumference.
Divide by 3.14 to get the diameter. Example: a circumference of 5.5 inches (140 mm) gives a diameter of about 1.75 inches (45 mm).
Step 3: match the number to the material
Stretchy silicone
Silicone and TPE rings stretch a lot, so the inner diameter should be smaller than your measurement. They are forgiving, easy to remove and the right choice for a first ring. Sets with several sizes let you find your fit without guessing.
Adjustable rings
Snap, strap and lasso styles can be tightened and loosened on the go. They are useful if you are between sizes or if you want a different fit at the start and at the end of a session.
Rigid metal
Steel rings do not stretch, so the measurement has to be right. Choose the size closest to your diameter, and if you are between sizes, go up. Metal rings are put on soft: one testicle at a time, then the penis. They come off the same way once the erection has gone down. Get comfortable with silicone before you move to metal.
How do you know it fits? Your body will tell you
The erection feels fuller and the ring feels snug, like a firm handshake.
You can slide a fingertip under a flexible ring.
There is no pain, pinching, numbness or cold feeling.
The color stays normal to slightly darker. Purple or blue means it is too tight: take it off.
The non-negotiables
Limit wear to 20 to 30 minutes and take a break before using it again.
Never fall asleep with a ring on.
Use a little lubricant to put it on and to take it off.
Trim or shave the area if hair gets caught.
If you have a blood disorder, take blood thinners or have nerve or circulation problems, ask your doctor first.
Rings for training
In PE, rings are also used after pumping to maintain expansion for a few minutes. Our 3 cock rings method explains how, and the JELQ2GROW ring set was put together for that routine. If you are curious about magnetic models, read Do magnetic cock rings improve erections?
The whole guide in one breath
